Me voy a Costa Rica!

It is FINALLY here. On Saturday I will fly to Costa Rica for an entire month. I will be staying in San Luis, at the UGA Costa Rica Campus, on the edge of the Monteverde cloud forest. It's a Language and Culture Service Learning Program, and we will be working with the community in San Luis teaching English and food/nutrition classes. For 8 days of my trip I'll be staying at a local coffee farm. I'm excited for this opportunity to learn about coffee production, Costa Rican culture, and Español. We'll also be traveling to Turrialba for white water rafting and time on the Pacific coast. I will visit CATIE, a university whose research pertains to sustainable agriculture.

I'm not sure how often I will be able to update the blog, but I'll try my best to let you know what's going on in the "Rich Coast". Thank you for your prayers and support. This will be an incredible experience. I'm excited to see what God has in store.

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29: 11

"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners."
Isaiah 61:1
